Isabelle and Lucas' story. "The second date was a test."

"I must confess that I was the one who made the first move. I winked at him, and he responded with a message. That's how I met Lucas, now... my husband. We were connected by Startuity. Had it not been for this portal, we would never have run into each other. This story would never have been written," tells her story Isabelle, whose dating portal helped her find the love of her life.

This is the story of Isabelle and Lucas:

I moved to Montpellier to study. My family home is 400 kilometers away, so aside from the cousin I lived with, I had no friends. Since I'm quite social, I quickly ran out of people (men) to go on outings to the movies or walks on the beach together, which I came to love.

I believe that it is always worth trying, even though one case in a million would happen, for that one case it is worth trying and not giving up. This was also the case with virtual acquaintances and setting up quite by accident a profile on Startuity. I won't hide the fact that a few messages with content not worthy of comment arrived in my inbox, and there were a few virtual conversations that didn't lead to anything more, until that day...

I was browsing through the profiles of men from Montpellier, when one belonging to quite a handsome guy popped up... The "About me" field was also filled out in an interesting way, so I took a chance and hooked him up by dropping a so-called "eye". After a few hours, I found a message in my inbox! "Hey, I like walking on the beach, too." Lucas, for that was the handsome man's name, referred to the information I had written about myself.

After exchanging a couple of messages on the portal, we quickly switched to SMS contact. There, after a few days of "clicking," we decided it was time to meet in person and see if we would be just as comfortable talking in real life.

I have to admit that before the meeting (after all, neither of us dared to use the word "date") I was very stressed. This was my first meeting with a person I had met online, so we met outside one of the shopping malls.

The meeting took place on July 2, 2015, and we also treat this date as the beginning of our relationship. Lucas wore a blue shirt to the meeting, which incredibly emphasized the color of his eyes. I also wanted to look as pretty as possible, so I put on shoes on a rather high heel, as if that could hide my 155 cm height. That being said, I remember a few things from our first meeting: the blue color of his eyes, the fact that we had a lot to talk about all the time, and the fact that we walked around a lot, and I didn't dare admit that my shoes were only good for looking pretty, but definitely not for hiking. Which, after time, I confessed to Lucas and to this day is still a reason for jokes.

The second date was also a good test for my chosen one, as a friend from my hometown came to visit me for the weekend. The three of us went to a place located on the beach. There we spent a very pleasant time talking and dancing. Lucas got 100% acceptance from his friend, which is quite important for women.

Then somehow it went "by itself", spending time together, the first intertwining of hands, summer evenings spent on the beach and walking home, and the first kisses...

With time, getting acquainted with loved ones, going on trips together, spending holidays together and moving in together.

Our relationship wasn't and isn't perfect, but thanks to both of us trying to give and take the best of ourselves and having a bit of humility in us, already on August 23, 2020, during a romantic dinner prepared by Lucas, I said YES! A year later we became witnesses at the wedding of our already mutual friend, knowing that in 12 months we too would be celebrating our big day.

And so on August 6, 2022, our wedding took place. It was not without tears of emotion and happiness, gestures full of love and kisses. It was the most beautiful day of our lives. And the opening of a new wonderful chapter together.

We were brought together by a similar approach to life, shared values and love of animals (we have two cats and two parakeets), but most of all we were brought together by Startuity. If it were not for this portal, we would never have run into each other. This story would never have been written...

Will our love and its evidence make you too believe that you can still be happy or happy? In my opinion, Startuity needs no better advertising than the stories of people who have met through this portal.

Thank you!!!

Isabelle and Lucas
